COVID-19 Updates From Our Manufacturing Partner Apliiq

Below are a series of emails and updates from our US based manufacturing Partner Apliiq. As of 8/5/2020 orders are being delayed 4 to 6 weeks. We appreciate your patience and support:


Covid 19 / Corona Virus - Your Safety Is Important To Us - Apliiq Production Status Updates:

First and foremost, we would like to deliver a heartfelt wish for you and your loved ones to be safe in this challenging time.  As the situation with Corona Virus continues to evolve, we will keep this page updated regularly.
August 5th, 2020: 

Dear Valued Partner,

I am writing to let you know that we have completed our move to a new production factory in Los Angeles.

This new space will allow us to produce roughly double the number of orders that our previous facility supported.  Along with the new space we have more than doubled the amount of equipment we use to produce orders and we are working to staff new positions and train new team members as quickly as possible.  If you are in Los Angeles and looking for a career in the apparel industry or have contacts that do, please apply here.

As of now, orders are still delayed by 4-6 weeks and we are closely monitoring our progress to continually improve here.

While this new factory will not allow us to ship your order(s) immediately, it is a critical foundation required for us to improve order turn around times, which is our number one company priority right now.

We are also in serious planning mode for our next facility on the East coast of the United States and will keep you updated as we make progress in bringing this second facility online.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to scale up our operations to give your brand the support you need and deserve.

June 23rd, 2020: We are excited to announce that we have moved into our new factory.  The factory has more than 2x the capacity of our previous factory.  We are in the process of staffing the new facility and looking to hire 20 new team members.  If you or anyone you know wants to get into apparel, and lives around South Central Los Angeles, please encourage them to apply online.  Potential candidates don't need to know anything about apparel, we will teach them everything they need to know.
Our current production delay is between 4 and 6 weeks.
June 16th, 2020:
The balance between our capacity to fulfill orders and the demand for our services still remains a very fluid situation and our best guess at this time is order delays are approximately 1 month. 
Due to increased volume of inquiries, you may also experience a delay in us getting back to you.  We are also working to expand our customer service and artist teams to reduce these delays.
June 2nd, 2020:
Order volumes continue to be sustained at more than 2x -2.5X what we'd consider normal/planned order volumes, please continue to work with your customers to set expectations around expected order delays.
The recent demonstrations and resulting curfews enforced within Los Angeles are also creating challenges in scheduling our night shifts, and negatively effecting our capacity throughput.
We have secured a new manufacturing space within Los Angeles which will handle 2x our current capacity.  We are expecting this new manufacturing facility to become operational in July 2020.  
We are still planning development of our East Coast facility, but plans have been delayed until Q3.
May 7th, 2020:
Order volumes have began to normalize around 2x what we'd consider normal/planned order volumes and we have put resources in place to handle this sustained volume + excess capacity going forward.  However, we are still working through a very large backlog of orders and lead times have reached 2 weeks -2.5 week delays for most orders.  We are asking our selling partners to work with their customers and set good expectations for these extended lead times to produce orders.  While the situation is still very fluid, we are hoping that we have reached our max lead times and we can begin to bring lead times back to our normal sub-week lead times.
Apliiq is not outsourcing orders to third parties and you and your customers should expect the quality you have come to expect from our standard operations.
We have seen only minor delays with US Domestic shipping, but have noticed some extended delays for International orders.
April 24th, 2020:
With the lock-down in place, we have seen an unprecedented number of orders, especially for the all-over print face scarves.  As we are operating in Los Angeles, we also have some production constraints which we must operate within.  This enormous volume is causing about a week delay in orders and, if extremely high order volumes continue, this delay could become longer.  We are asking our brand partners to notify their customers that there may be delays with orders due to the Covid-19 lock-down.
In the meantime, we are doing everything in our power to produce and ship your orders as quickly as possible and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
March 20th, 2020:
While the state of California and the city of Los Angeles have issued guidance for non-essential retail businesses to close, Apliiq will continue to operate as we are a non-retail business and providing essential services by delivering goods directly to families under quarantine.  We are continuing to produce and ship orders.
We have also mandated that all team members wear face masks during their shifts.
March 18th, 2020:
As your trusted partner in apparel manufacturing, your safety, your customer's safety and the safety of our team are paramount.  We also understand that we operate business critical functions of producing and fulfilling orders on behalf of your brand and this is directly tied to your personal livelihood. 
We will continue to operate our factory and customer service teams to fulfill orders in the safest way possible.  We have implemented the following safeguards to protect you, your customers and our teams:
1) All non-production employees are required to work from home until further notice. 
2) While producing your orders, we are taking extra measures to limit the spread of the virus.  These measures include mandatory hand washing, disinfecting of tools and work stations, and recommended social distancing practices.
3) We will not allow outside guests or customers in the facility until further notice, including pick up orders.
4) We are working with our supply chain partners to ensure they have taken similar precautions.
